Sudden Infant Death Risk Reduction And Counseling

Sudden Infant Death Risk Reduction and Counseling, a Program of Public Health Solutions, seeks to eliminate sudden unexpected deaths in infants and children under three years of age in New York City

Our program works with a wide range of health and social service professionals, community leaders, educators and local residents to make up-to-date information available about the risks and potential causes of sudden unexpected infant/child death.

We provide “train the trainer” workshops and offer consultations on the needs of bereaved families. We also facilitate support groups for families and coordinate the training of peer volunteers in supporting newly bereaved families.

We collaborate with professionals and community members to increase public awareness through educational programs about Sudden Infant Death (SID), safe sleep practices, and infant mortality risk reduction.
